Phase 1 focuses on creating an overarching Vision for the Comprehensive Plan, looking ahead to the year 2047. The Vision sets the overall direction for decision making for future growth and investment in the County and will form the basis of future phases of work throughout the Comprehensive Plan update.

During Phase 1 the project team will be conducting an existing conditions analysis to better understand the County today and a population forecast looking ahead at expected growth over the next 20 years. This information will ensure our future planning efforts are based on real-world conditions and data about the County today and the expected growth over time.

Using this information and data, we will draft a “background report” document that will be a compilation of the existing conditions analysis, summarizes key statistics about the County today, and makes predictions about future population growth.
